A rare gem book! Don't let the cover fool you into think 'looks a bit dull' because this story is anything but dull. It's tender and tough and all the spaces in between.

This book had strong content within the story. Dean looked after everyone else, He saw and heard things and worked quietly away. He came across as a loner, but his brother's made sure he wasn't alone. Along comes Mari and her son Leo, both dealing with trauma of an abusive ex. Leo knew when to stay quiet and watching, Dean saw that and recognised himself in Leo. He knew Mari was struggling but also knew she had strength. Dean was so solid also unaware that years previous Mari had a crush on him. These two came together at first slowly, then circumstances changed and both were pulling away, until dangerous circumstances brought them home together . Good story

I have never written a review of a book before, but after finishing Hard To Fix I just had to. Extreme slow burn✅, wounded sensitive hero✅, strong, quietly brave heroine✅, angst that gives you a knot in your throat✅.I have never read this author before, but I have to say, she knows how to write the hurt, the love, the healing, in the best way! She has such a way with words. It’s eloquent without being sappy, it’s great description without being too wordy, it’s painful without leaving scars. I just want to hug every character in this story and I can’t wait to read about each brother. I’m sure each story will be unique just like them!

Broody/awkward MMC who is actually a cinnamon roll and a sweet single mom with the cutest little boy ever, yes please! 😍 I loved reading Dean and Mari’s story. It was sweet and emotional with some angst thrown in there as well. I’m excited to read about the rest of the Halvorsen brothers!
